But it's time to
rejoice, one and all, because Harry Potter creator J K Rowling has only
gone and confirmed that there's going to be not one but TWO more HP
films than we first thought for us to get our grubby mitts on, and we
can't effing wait.
Using Twitter (of which she is Queen) to confirm the news, Rowling informed a fan that the Harry Potter spin off, Fantastic Beasts, would be made into three films, and not just the one we had originally thought.
J.K. Rowling Retweeted Katie Hendrickson
You heard wrong, I'm afraid. The first of the films, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is being released on November 18, which means it's definitely not too soon to start a countdown. The first film in the trilogy, which is based around the Fantastic Beasts textbook written 70 years prior to Harry Potter's time, stars Eddie Redmayne as textbook author, Newt Scamander.
But up until this week, it was thought that the film would be a single
entity, so the news that it's now being turned into THREE inevitably
brilliant films is music to our ears.
