'I love to shop at Target...but that's become difficult': Taraji P. Henson reveals it's harder to shop where she likes since Empire and Golden Globe win



She's become a household name since bringing the character, Cookie Lyon, to life.
Taraji P. Henson sat down with Extra to talk about her hit show, Empire, as well as how life has changed she landed the pivotal role.

The 45-year-old told host Tracey Edmonds that: 'It's weird because I've been doing this for so long. It took a character like Cookie to expose me to the world in a way that I've never been exposed before.'

Adding that: 'I love to shop at Target and I love to do my own shopping, but that's become difficult...with the paparazzi.'
The actress continued: 'It's like, "Where were y'all, like, 10 years ago?' You have got to take the good with the bad. The good side is I can get into any restaurant last minute.'

Taraji accepted the Best Actress Award at the Golden Globes last month for her portrayal of Cookie on the Fox hit. 
During the sit down interview, the TV star touched on how it felt to win, telling Extra that: 'That is our soul we expose to the world, so whenever people receive it and people go, "Oh, we want to give you something," it always feels good.'

Taraji also revealed to Extra that in five years she wants to slow down career-wise: 'Hopefully, I don't want to say "retired," but a little slowed down.'
She added: 'Maybe just picking and choosing projects I want to do. Maybe enjoying the fruits of my labor.'

During the stunner's acceptance speech for her Best Actress award, she said: 'I mean who knew that playing an ex con would take me all around the globe?'
Adding: 'It just goes to show...it was Cookie who spent 17 years in jail for selling crack!'

When she was told to wrap her acceptance speech, Taraji exclaimed: "Please wrap!" Wait a minute. I waited 20 years for this. My fans have been praying for this. You gotta give me time.' 
The second half of season two of Empire will premiere on Wednesday, March 30 on Fox.
